Great Hall ~ 'The Keep'

Every castle has a place called ‘The Keep’ within its walls. The Keep was a common word to describe the heart of a castle, referring to its centre hall. The Great Hall at Grail Springs is the main focal point and centre of our sanctuary where guests come rest, gather and learn throughout the day, reminicent of the famous gathering hall where King Arthur held court at the legendary Camelot.

The founder Madeleine Marentette spent many childhood years with her grandparents in Germany which sparked her creative imagination in interior, exterior and landscape design. Her days exploring romantic castles, garden estates and mazes, hidden chapels and monasteries all had an effect on her vision for Grail Springs as she began to draw the blueprints for this intimate healing sanctuary complete with its own turret. With an old world feel, woven with a contemporary touch, visitors enjoy being surrounded by an eclectic collection of Belgium tapestries, handmade wrought-iron detailing, slate floors, natural woods, beautiful textures and fabrics throughout. The décor is a feast for the eyes, the magic living in the details.

The Great Hall is a magical, peace-filled space where visitors gather to reflect, nap, read or curl up by the magnificent fireplace.

This room boasts a thirty-five foot high stone fireplace made from granite rocks collected from local farmer’s fields, and is doused with comfy down-filled couches and velvet chaise lounges that immediately transports it passengers to a state of peace, calm and tranquility. The Great Hall is commonly used for our circle gatherings, musical powwows, group meditations, special events, and daily workshop presentations which mainly occur each evening.
