Have perfect health wtih the Acid/Alkaline approach to your nutrition

The basic diet of the 21st Century encompassing the masses is 75% acidic and 25% alkaline. Sad but true. SAD = The Standard American Diet. What our bodies want to thrive on is the exact opposite, 25% acidic and 75% alkaline. What we are looking for in our diet is the perfect balance of each and that will take understanding and applying the acid/alkaline balance to your diet. Let's take a peek at how that looks. It is not as complicated as one might imagine.

We are finding from the research of most nutritionists who seem to be agreeing on this subject, that maintaining a balance of acidity and alkalinity in our bodily tissues is one of the primary roles of nutrition. The balance of acidity to alkalinity is referred to as 'pH'. The acid/alkaline (pH) balance ranges from totally acid at 0.0 to totally alkaline at 14.0 with 7.0 being neutral. Ideally our pH should be around 7.0. Typically, it is found that people who have eaten a SAD diet during their life become unbalanced and acidic, and their overall net pH can drop to 6.3 or 6.2 and sometimes lower.

Consistantly high acidity levels are the underlying cause of ailments and dis-ease. Bacteria loves and grows in an acidic environment and will continue to grow until it is neutralized. Too much bacteria leads to congestion. And congestion creates inflammation, puffiness, contraction, stiffness, tissue degeneration, water retention, itchy skin, constipation, diarrhea and can lead to many chronic conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome. The root of all disease starts in the unhealthy colon. More plainly put, pre-mature death can start in the colon. Keeping your colon clean and pH balanced leads you on the path to the best preventative medicine and health care. The only way to correct this imbalance is to eat a ratio of foods that are more alkaline than acid including the water you drink.

The acid/alkaline level of the food is determined by the type of mineral content. Leaves and stems of plants for instance contain alkaline minerals. Roots and seeds are more on the acidic side. At the top of the alkaline chart would be green leaves like kale and spinach, while on the opposite end you would find organ meats and red meats.

From this chart we can begin to understand why the SAD is so acidic. Think about what the average North American is eating; fast foods including burgers and fries. Translated and going further, the white burger bun is make from seeds and french fries (roots).  Or another average meal that millions upon millions of families are sitting at home tonight and eating steak (muscle), potato (root) and peas (seeds). All acidic. 100%. That is why the average American now struggles with weight gain and even obesity which is on a huge incline every single year, including children as young as three years old.

One should eat 1-2 leafy organic greens each day and drink a green vegetable juice and/or a juice containing a green super food powder which is now readily available.
