Introducing the first of our seasonally planned ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ foodie lovers weekend retreat!

This 2-night retreat is an ideal opportunity to relax and unwind by getting up close and friendly with Mother Nature. You’ll not only enjoy gorgeous spa treatments that will include an infusion of freshly made medicinal herbs from the property, you will learn how to identify many of our native and delicious edible greens, herbs and mushrooms.

We'll make a positive identification of the plants and we'll discuss various ways of preparing and enjoying these wild harvested foods. The walk will last approximately 2 hours and will be capped off with some wild food and tea preparation and samplings with our chef.

Take away:

  • recipes for making homegrown health tonics and tea infusions, delicious salads and dressings
  • a practicial guide on how to build and what to grow in your own 'essentials garden'
  • learn how to make fragrent cedar and sage burning sticks, wonderful for gift giving at Christmas
  • information on which foods to eat during which season to boost your chakra energy health 

The weekend will be led by several of our team members whose are all passionate about both the medicinal and edible potential of our native plants. We’ll forage through the forest, learn, harvest and you’ll even make your own cedar burning stick to take home with you.  

Friday

  • 3-5pm arrival, spa, fitness and fun in and around the property
  • 5pm tour and orientation
  • 6pm dinner
  • 7pm Introductory Evening Discussion ~ 'Eating for your Chakras' with Amanda Stuart 

Saturday

  • 8am breakfast
  • 8:45am Grail Mantra (don't want to miss!)
  • 9:00am-11am 'Walk on the Wild Side' Forest and Garden Foraging with Environmental Specialist and Chef Dawn McKenzie
  • 11am-12:30pm 'Cooking Demonstration, Making Tea Infusions, Samplings from our Wild Walk
  • 12:30 Wild Walk lunch 
  • 1:30-5pm spa and fitness time
  • 6pm dinner 
  • 7pm Lively Interactive with the Wild Walk Team!

Sunday

  • 8am breakfast
  • 8:45am Grail Mantra
  • 9am Morning Chakra Yoga
  • 10:15am Hike, spa therapy time, or visit to the Grotto
  • 11am check out of rooms
  • 12:30 lunch (optional)
  • Participants are invited to continue to enjoy the facilities, fitness classes and spa treatments. Lockers available upon request.

Please bring suitable attire such as a good walking shoe or boot and socks that will cover your ankles. The walk will last up to two hours so you’ll be supplied with a snack and drinks to keep your fuel up. We’ll bring baskets to make a small collection of species we find in abundance. Photographs are a great tool for aiding identification so we encourage you to bring a camera along too.
